Assistant District Attorney James Nava was the 64th Precinct's ADA who was romantically involved with Harlee. He was a recurring character in Season 1 and later got moved to up to a series regular in Season 2. In Season 3 he dies. He is portrayed by Gino Anthony Pesi.
